Greater Houston · Non-controlled medications

Between appointments in Houston

If your primary care appointment or specialist follow-up is still ahead but your maintenance medication is running low, an independent Texas clinician may assess whether a temporary, non-controlled bridge prescription is safe. This includes patients receiving care in the Texas Medical Center and throughout Greater Houston.

Online intake is not instant prescribing. No controlled medications, guaranteed refills or emergency treatment.

What to know before you request a review

Some medications require specialist monitoring or cannot safely be renewed without labs, examination, records or direct contact with the current prescriber. Do not stop a critical medicine without seeking appropriate advice.

What if my specialist appointment is weeks away?

Provide your medication name, dose, last prescription, relevant recent results, and follow-up appointment details. A clinician determines whether any interim treatment is appropriate.

Which medications may be considered?

Examples include established treatment for blood pressure, thyroid disease, cholesterol, type 2 diabetes or reflux when appropriate. Recent readings, medication history, laboratory data and a follow-up plan may be necessary.

Care limitations

Medical decisions are individualized. Severe symptoms, suspected emergencies or major changes in health need appropriate in-person or emergency care. Call 911 for emergencies.
