Houston pharmacy: patient options when no refills remain
This informational page may be printed or shared with patients. If an established non-controlled medication has no remaining refills, ask your pharmacist whether your usual prescriber can authorize a renewal, whether legally permitted emergency dispensing is available, and whether an independent virtual clinical review is appropriate.
Non-controlled prescriptions only. Review is subject to clinician availability and eligibility. No guaranteed prescription.
What Houston patients should know
MedRefillCare offers a $39 self-pay clinical review for eligible non-controlled medication requests. Intake can be submitted online, but clinician response and prescribing are not immediate or guaranteed. Patients may request their own Houston-area pharmacy. Medical, lab and pharmacy charges are separate. Severe symptoms require urgent evaluation; emergencies require 911.
Common question
Is this an official partnership with the pharmacy?
No. This sheet is general patient education, not a pharmacy endorsement, contractual referral arrangement, guaranteed prescription or statement that a particular pharmacy participates.
