Visiting relatives in Houston and running low on medication?
Visiting family in Houston, Sugar Land, Stafford or Fort Bend County? Travelers arriving through George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) or Hobby (HOU) sometimes discover their daily medicine will not last their full trip. A Texas clinician can review eligible non-controlled maintenance medicines when the patient is physically in Texas.
Non-controlled prescriptions only. Review is subject to clinician availability and eligibility. No guaranteed prescription.
What Houston patients should know
Provide your current medication name, dose, original label or prescription, medical conditions, allergies, travel plans and the exact Houston-area pharmacy you want to use. Medicines supplied outside the US may have different brand names or formulations. A clinician may need more information, lab monitoring or an in-person examination before considering a US prescription.
Common question
Can you automatically replace a prescription from another country?
No. A prescription from another country is not automatically transferable. The Texas clinician makes a separate clinical decision under applicable US and Texas rules. We cannot promise particular drug brands, insulin, weight-loss medications, refrigeration handling, or immediate fulfillment.
